The 36th ADFIAP Annual Meetings hosted by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) will be held at the MNCCI Building and at The Corporate Hotel and Convention Centre, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from May 22 to 24, 2013. Arrival / Departure Information

Arrival Information

Most of the delegates are expected to disembark at the Chinggis Khaan International Airport.

After clearing the customs and immigration processes and collecting your baggage, follow the exit sign and proceed through the Public Area where MNCCI representatives will welcome you. A signage bearing the Annual Meeting logo will make you spot them easily from the crowd of greeters. Transportation to the Corporate Hotel and Convention Centre will be provided by MNCCI.

Departure Information

The MNCCI will offer transportation to Chinggis Khaan International Airport. Details will be provided during the meeting. Make sure that all your documents are in order BEFORE arriving at the airport to avoid delays.


Visa Policy of Mongolia

The Visa policy of Mongolia has been greatly liberalized recently to increase tourism.

Citizens of following countries do not require a visa to visit Mongolia for 90 days:

Belarus
Kazakhstan
Kyrgyzstan
Ukraine
United States

Citizens of following countries do not require a visa to visit Mongolia for 30 days:

Cuba
Georgia
Israel
Japan
Laos
Malaysia
Thailand

Citizens from the Philippines do not require a visa to visit Mongolia for 21 days while citizens from Singapore and Hongkong do not require a visa to visit Mongolia for 14 days.

Registration of Delegates

Delegates are requested to register at The Corporate Hotel and Convention Centre starting Tuesday, May 21, from 2 pm to 8 pm at Beijing meeting room on the 5th floor of the hotel, to resume the following day, Wednesday, May 22, from 8 am to 12 noon, also in the same area.

Both ADFIAP and MNCCI secretariat will assist the delegates when they register. Secretariat room is located at: Hong Kong meeting room on the 5th floor of the hotel.


77th ADFIAP Board of Directors Meeting

The 77th ADFIAP Board of Directors Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 22, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the Conference Hall, MNCCI Building. Agenda and board folders will be distributed to the board members upon their arrival at The Corporate Hotel and Convention Centre.


Delegate-Meets-Delegate Session

The Delegate-Meets-Delegate Session provides delegates the opportunity to meet and network with fellow delegates. Prior appointments must be arranged with the Secretariat. List of confirmed delegates would be made available not later than May 10, 2013.

There will be 2 bilateral sessions set-up between 2 institutions/banks allowing 30 minutes per session. First session will be from 11 am to 11:30 am and the second session will be from 11:30 am to 12 noon. The 2 sessions will be held on Wednesday, May 22, at The View Lounge Club on the 16th floor of The Corporate Hotel and Convention Centre. If there are other delegates the institution/bank needs to meet other than the set-up schedule, there will be other occasions to meet them (e.g., welcome dinner/awards night; closing dinner, fellowship day or during coffee breaks in the morning and afternoon. The secretariat will be willing to set up the appointments for you.


Shared Interest Group

Shared Interest Group (SIG) sessions provide same-purposed members to share experiences and best practices. We have invited speakers from our own members banks to share their best practices in the following areas: SIG (1) Housing Finance, from 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm; and, SIG (2) Agriculture Finance, from 2:15 pm to 3:00 pm, Wednesday, May 22.

A 30-minute Special Presentation on, “Opportunities and Challenges for Factoring in the World and in Asia” by Mr. Mikhail Treyvish, Chairman, Asian Chapter, International Factors Group, will be held from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm at The Corporate Hotel and Convention Centre. He is internationally recognized as the founder of the Russian factoring market. All sessions will be held at The Ulaanbaatar Conference Hall on the 5th floor of the hotel.


20th Ordinary Meeting of the General Assembly

The 20th Ordinary Meeting of the General Assembly will be held on Wednesday, May 22, from 4 pm to 5:45 pm at the Ulaanbaatar Conference Hall on the 5th floor of The Corporate Hotel and Convention Centre. Highlights of the meeting include the Chairman’s Report on the various activities of the Association, re-election of the board members due for retirement for another 4-year term; welcome to new members and a special presentation from a member bank


Welcome Dinner / Awards Night

The Opening Dinner and Awards Gala will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at 7:30 pm at the Exhibition Hall, Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) building. The evening event will be a formal function for which the dress code is business attire or national dress.

Prior to the Event, there will be a rehearsal for ADFIAP Award Winners at 5:45 pm to 6:00 pm at the stage area of the function room where the Event will be held.


Opening Ceremonies/Conference Proper

The Opening Ceremonies of the 36th ADFIAP Annual Conference is scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 23, 8:30 am at the Ulaanbaatar Conference Hall, at the 5th Floor of the hotel. The Inaugural Address will be delivered by the Chief Guest, His Excellency, Norovyn Altankhuyag, Prime Minister, People’s Republic of Mongolia. A group photo session with H.E.Norovyn Altankhuyag will be held after his speech delivery.


Activities for Accompanying Persons / Spouses

Accompanying persons/spouses of delegates will be provided a list of tours available for May 22 and 23. This will not be a hosted activity and expenses for joining these tours will be borne by the accompanying persons/spouse. The host institution will provide a travel agency that can handle these tours.


Closing Dinner

The closing dinner, hosted by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will be held on Thursday, May 23, 8:00 pm at the Exhibition Hall, Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) building.

Please bring a special gift representative of your country. We will have our traditional raffle of gifts to make the evening more enjoyable and memorable. So that everyone will have a chance to receive a special gift, each delegate/guest is requested to bring his/her special gift.


Fellowship Day / Cultural Tour

The host institution will make arrangements for the fellowship/cultural tour scheduled on Friday, May 24, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm for all delegates and accompanying persons. As this will not be a hosted activity, tour fees will be collected from the delegates and their accompanying persons to cover for English speaking guide service, transfers, entry tickets of museum, monastery and Mini Naadam fee and lunch. Tour fees will range from US$71 per person for a group of 61 to 80 pax and US$63 per person for a group of 81 to 100 pax.

Dress Code and What to Bring

Comfortable attire; light jacket, walking shoes, hat, sunglasses and sun block cream. You may wish to bring handy-cam or camera.

Weather/Clothing

The summer season starts in May and lasts until August with temperatures peaking in July. This is the most popular season for tourists visiting Mongolia. The month of May might still see some snowfall, but the weather is usually good.

Light comfortable clothing can be worn during summer months. However, temperature can drop during the evening and it would be advisable to bring light jackets for evening.

Electric Current Voltage

Electrical sockets (outlets) in Mongolia usually supply electricity at between 220 and 240 volts AC. If you’re plugging in an appliance that was built for 220-240 volt electrical input, or an appliance that is compatible with multiple voltages, then an adapter is all you need.
