Message From The Chairman
On behalf of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP), I wish to invite all our members and partners in development to join us in attending the 4th edition of the International CEO Forum for Development Finance Institutions in the Thai capital city of Bangkok.
This exciting three-in-one event will afford delegates to participate in the UN Consultative Meeting on the Financing for Development, to exchange experiences and business ideas at the conference proper on the theme, "Development Banks and Sustainable SMEs: Opportunities for Growth" and to visit the largest trade fair for Thai small businesses, the OTOP City.
With the promotion of SMEs high in the agenda to pursue economic prosperity in our region, I am delighted to have during the 3-day event, bankers, SME experts as well as entrepreneurs themselves speak about their knowledge, best practices and case studies on the subject.
I wish to thank SME Development Bank of Thailand and its CEO, Khun Pongsak Chewcharat, for hosting this very timely and relevant event and the Association of DFIs in Malaysia (ADFIM) for their support and cooperation.
I look forward to a successful forum and to personally meeting you all in Bangkok.
AMBASSADOR JESUS P. TAMBUNTING
Chairman, ADFIAP

Objectives
In many countries in the Asia-Pacific today, there has been a marked focus on SME development to spur economic growth. As a consequence, financial institutions catering specifically to SMEs, invariably called "SME Banks", have been set up either by governments or the private sector. But the development and financing of SMEs are undertaken at various levels of enterprises and at various stages of progress in different countries.
This fourth edition of the CEO Forum aims to take stock of the best practices of SME Banks and experts from the various region as well as learn from their counterparts in other parts of the world.
