The consequences of climate change, such as floods and tropical storms, in the developing countries in the Asia and the Pacific are increasingly becoming severe. For these economies addressing climate change requires going beyond traditional financing approaches and sources to meet the climate challenge at the international and local level. This includes climate finance drawn from public, private and alternative sources of financing that seeks to support climate mitigation and adaptation actions and address climate change. Hence, the need to introduce climate finance products and services that enable investments in new sectors with improved effectiveness, impact and replicability, and drives the transformation towards a low-carbon climate resilient economy.
