PhilEXIM conducts green seminar

PhilEXIM recently conducted a “Seminar on Waste Management, the Green Procurement Program and Climate Change” for its employees to raise awareness on the merits of proper waste disposal and energy conservation especially in the office.

Resource speakers were from the Environmental Education Section of the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Topics included the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act which underscored the mandatory segregation of solid waste to be conducted primarily at the source such as household, institutional, industrial, commercial and agricultural sources as well as the prohibition on Non-Environmentally Acceptable Products and Packaging (NEAPP).

The seminar is part of PhilExim’s on-going “Green is in @PhilEXIM” campaign, a corporate initiative to come up with an ecologically-responsive business environment through sensible collective action. PhilEXIM, for its part, is already on course with its energy conservation measures and also had started segregating its waste by installing properly labeled trash bins within its premises.
