BEDB provides support to village entrepreneurs

The Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), in collaboration with Kampong Kapok Consultative Council, held a handover ceremony of equipment to support the development of Kampong Kapok’s banana crackers project. Kampong Kapok Consultative Council which is the fifth recipient of the BEDB’s Village Enterprise Financial Scheme established its banana crackers project in 2012. The project is conducted under the Ministry of Home Affair’s One Village One Product Initiative. UEM Builders Berhad, a Malaysian company contributed the fund for the purchase of the equipments as part of their corporate social responsibility initiative. The Village Enterprise Financial Scheme is aimed at providing financial assistance to villages specifically to increase productivity and commercialisation of their village products.
