Brief Profile of the Bank
DFCC Bank was created on October 4, 1955 in Colombo, Sri Lanka
by Development Finance Corporation of Ceylon Act No. 35 of 1955. The bank,
which was the pioneering development financing institution in the country,
has over the years played the innovative and catalytic role in the development
of the private sector, a role that has not been confined to the more provision
of long term loans but one encompassing capacity building, employment generation
and business facilitation which had a significant impact on the society at
large. Starting from small beginnings in 1956 and enduring many a storm
of change, DFCC Bank today ranks as one of Sri Lankas top corporates
with sustained profits and consistent growth.
