Brief Profile of the Bank

Microfinance Development Bank (MDF) was established in December 2002 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in the framework of the "Sustainable Livelihoods Project" which is jointly implemented by the Government of Mongolia & the World Bank. MDF provides a wholesale loan to commercial banks & non-bank financial institutions in order to improve the sources of livelihoods & to increase income of rural people in Mongolia.

Products and Services Offered

Wholesale loan to commercial banks and non-bank financial institution;
Training and technical assistance to micro-finance institutions to able them to provide financially     and institutionally sustainable micro-finance services in rural areas;
"Non-collateral loan" for rural residents herder solidarity groups;
Training for the sub-borrower.
