AC visited ABA_2355ADFIAP Consulting (AC) group head, Ms. Cora Conde, visited the Asian Bankers Association (ABA) headquarters in Taipei on September 6, 2010 to present AC’s credentials and to explore potential collaboration between ADFIAP and ABA. Ms. Conde met with ABA’s Dr. Webster Kiang, Secretary-Treasurer and Mr. Amador Honrado, Deputy Secretary.

During the meeting, Ms. Conde discussed AC’s holistic intervention offered to financial institutions that want to set up SME lending units or enhance their SME lending business under a risk mitigated environment. This elicited the interest of Dr. Kiang and Mr. Honrado since ABA shares ADFIAP’s objective of encouraging activities that would enhance the role of their members in
servicing the financial needs of their respective economies and in promoting regional development. Thus, it was agreed that a collaboration between the two institutions be strengthened through the active exchange of best practices in development finance and views on current developments and issues in the banking industry.

The ABA http://www.aba.org.tw/ is composed of over 100 leading commercial banks in 23 countries located in Asia and the Pacific and serves as a forum for advancing the cause of the banking and finance industry in the region and promoting regional economic cooperation.
