ADFIAP and its regional counterpart, the African Association of Development Finance Institutions (AADFI), have teamed up together to organize the 1st Joint AADFI-ADFIAP CEO Forum on November 13-16, 2012 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Forum, with the theme “Promoting South-South Cooperation among DFIs in Africa, Asia-Pacific and the CaribbeanThrough Value Chain Financing”, aims to develop closer working relationships among CEOs of DFIs in Africa and in Asia and the Pacific, share and learn best practices in development financing operations, develop networks for cross-border financing and investment promotion by DFIs in both continents, and support an effort at promoting inclusive socio-economic development in the continents through south-south cooperation among DFIs. The event will be hosted by the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and the African Development Bank (AfDB), with the support of the Association of Development Finance Institutions of Malaysia (ADFIM).
Forum speakers will be mostly CEOs of ADFIAP, AADFI and other international organizations who will make presentations based on their experience and expertise in order to promote global value chains across countries and institutions. Apart from the Forum proper, other highlights of the event will be the 76th ADFIAP Board of Directors Meeting, the Meetings of the AADFI Executive Committee and the Fellowship Tour.
ADFIAP’s own CEO Forum, similar to AADFI’s, is an annual platform for chief executives of its members and partner-organizations that serves as a venue for best practice and ideas exchange, relationship-building and business cooperation.
