ADFIAP, ABA hold MSME study tour program

ADFIAP, in cooperation with the Asian Bankers Association (ABA), held a 5-day “International Study Tour Program on MSME Development and Policies” in Taipei, Taiwan on October 30 to November 3, 2017.

The program was aimed to provide a venue for participants to learn and be exposed to the practices of specialized financial institutions and regulatory agencies in Taiwan by showcasing current approaches, strategies, policies and regulations to address the various issues faced by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Eleven (11) participants from ADFIAP and ABA members in India, Oman and Thailand attended the program.

The program afforded the participants to visit CTBC Bank, First Bank, Export-Import Bank, Taiwan Business Bank, Bureau of Foreign Trade/Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), Small & Medium Enterprise Administration, National Association of SMEs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) as well as a visit to Kaohsiung which has grown from a small trading village into an bustling industrial center.

ABA Chairman Mr. Daniel Wu, ABA Secretary-Treasurer Victor Tseng, Deputy Secretary Amador Honrado welcomed the delegates during the program’s opening. Ms. Sandra Honrado, Senior Executive on Programs, and Ms. Ma. Eloisa Olvina represented ADFIAP in the event.
