ADFIAP, ABA sign cooperation pact

ABA, adfiap, Mou, newsADFIAP and the Asian Bankers Association (ABA) signed a wide-ranging memorandum of cooperation (MoC) on November 1, 2010 during the periphery of the 27th ABA General Meeting and Conference held at the Shangri-la’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan.

The MoC covers the aspiration of both institutions to harness their synergies for the benefit of their respective members
through the implementation of joint programs and activities of mutual interest.

Among others, ADFIAP and ABA will co-organize, collaborate and assist each other in conferences and forums on sustainable development issues such as, but not limited to, micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) development and finance, environmental and corporate governance and other relevant topics. Both regional organizations will also jointly develop and promote training, capacity building, and credentialing programs to enhance the professional and institutional capability of their members and other institutions that share similar objectives.

ADFIAP and ABA will likewise facilitate interaction between their members in order to encourage strategic alliances and business networking among themselves and their clients as well as continuously explore other areas of cooperation such as information exchange, publications, research studies and other undertaking.

The ABA provides a forum for advancing the cause of the banking and finance industry in the region and promoting regional economic cooperation. ABA’s membership currently includes over 100 of the leading commercial banks from some 23 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
