In line with its advocacy on environmental development and on the invitation of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), ADFIAP attended and chaired a session on green financing at the “3rd Annual Green Breakthroughs Conference”, co-organized by the IFC, Philippine Green Building Initiative (PGBI), with support from the Philippine Department Public Works and Highways (DPWH), held on November 27, 2017 at the Shangri-la Hotel in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The event, with the theme “Green Building for a Better Future”, was keynoted by Philippine Senator Hon. Loren Legarda and attended by more than 200 participants from private and government sectors.
During the conference, ADFIAP Deputy Secretary General, Norman Tilos, chaired the session on “Green Financing” which covered the key aspects of financing green projects in general and and housing sector in particular. The session tackled the various initiatives of the private and government banks in financing green projects and their roles in advancing green finance in the country.

Lara (Green Building Code Impact: Water Efficiency through Waste Water Management Re-Use; Mr. Werner Haberzetti, Adviser for Integrated Resources Management in Asian Countries (Climate Change Resilient House); Mr. Autif Sayyed, Green Building Specialist in Asia, IFC (Green Building Practices in the Region; and Mr. Ommid Saberi, Senior Industry Specialist, IFC (EDGE Green Certification System).
The Annual Green Breakthrough Conference is part of the Philippine Government initiative to reduce carbon emission in the Philippines for a cleaner and more sustainable economy.
