ADFIAP completes Integrity Self Assessment, joins integrity action planning workshop

integrity pledgeAs a signatory to the Integrity Pledge and one of the 100 Integrity Consortium members that completed the Integrity Self Assessment (ISA) being validated for integrity practices by a third party, ADFIAP participated in the “Workshop on Developing a Company Integrity Action Plan” (CIAP) held on March 27, 2014 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Makati City, Philippines.

The ISA is organized around six(6)focus areas. The first focus area enumerates a series of statements regarding top management’s policies and practices that promote and institutionalize integrity in the organization. The second to the sixth focus areas are statements related to the ways in which the organization ensures that integrity is practiced when dealing with employees, clients, business partners, finances and government, communities, environment and other key stakeholders.

Companies that participated in the workshop were given the results of their ISA which provided insights on opportunities for improvement to further strengthen their integrity systems. The workshop helped identify the kind of activities and initiatives that need to be implemented to address these opportunities for improvement. Towards this end, the participating companies came up with a draft Integrity Action Plan to mainstream best integrity practices in their respective organizations to address identified vulnerabilities. The next step is to open up the assessment to an external validator who can independently and rigorously re-examine the organization’s progress in institutionalizing integrity practices. By the end of 2014, the Integrity Initiative aims to set up an Integrity Certification Program similar to the ISO wherein certified companies can avail of incentives with the government and other private sector partners.

The workshop was organized by the Integrity Initiative https://www.integrityinitiative.com/index.php, a nationwide, private sector-led campaign that institutionalizes common ethical standards among various sectors of society. The Initiative is implemented by the Makati Business Club (MBC) and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), in partnership with the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP), the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham) and the Asian Institute of Management-Hills Governance Center (AIM).

ADFIAP was represented in the event by ADFIAP Consulting Group Head, Ms.
Cora Conde and ADFIAP Consultant Ms. Emy Chavez.
