ADFIAP gets certification to do sustainability reporting check and verification

The ADFIAP Secretariat is now further equipped to assist members prepare and enhance their sustainability reporting. Mr. Enrique Florencio, Head of ADFIAP’s Knowledge Management Unit, attended a week-long IRCA-accredited Certified Sustainability Assurance Practitioner Training (CSAP) course and obtained a certificate as a “Certified Sustainability Assurance Practitioner”. This means that the Secretariat can now undertake independent third-party verification and assurance for members doing sustainability reporting aside from advising and guiding them in report preparation.

The certification program included topics such as: (i) best practices on sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting and assurance tools, standards, and their links to core business practice (ii) stakeholder engagement and sustainability reporting assurance (iii) standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Guidelines, among others; and (iv) principles of materiality, completeness and responsiveness in evaluating sustainability reports.
