ADFIAP, JICE meet for Japan study program on MSEs

Japan International Cooperatin CEnter visit to SecretariatADFIAP was visited recently by representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) regarding ADFIAP’s Asia Pacific Institute of Development Finance’s (IDF) proposed study tour program on micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in Japan. Mr. Atsushi Tsutsumi and Ms. Atsuko Sakamaki, Director of Business Development Division, Overseas Business Department and Country Officer, International Student Department met with Mr. Octavio B. Peralta and Ms. Sandra C. Honrado, ADFIAP Secretary General and Senior Executive for Programs, respectively.

The IDF organizes study tour programs (STPs) in member-institutions’ countries to share best practices and experiences on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The IDF has conducted STPs in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. For the Japan program, the IDF is cooperating with the Japan Finance Corporation Micro Business and Individual Unit (JFC-Micro) https://www.k.jfc.go.jp/pfce/indexe.html, an ADFIAP Special Member. JFC-Micro has contributed to economic prosperity in Japan for more than 60 years by providing various kinds of business loans to MSEs.

JICE http://sv2.jice.or/e/index.htm serves as a international cooperation service center to support implementation of the Japanese Government’s international cooperation programs, to disseminate knowledge and information about the Japanese Government’s international cooperation programs and to provide welfare services to personnel engaged in JICA’s international cooperation activities.
