ADFIAP past chair, Amb. Tambunting, gets honorary OBE award from Queen Elizabeth II

Former ADFIAP Chairman Jesus P. Tambunting has been recognized by Queen Elizabeth II as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
Ambassador Tambunting served as ADFIAP Chairman from 2004 until May 2008. He served as the Philippine Ambassador to London from 1993 to 1998 with great distinction. He has been co-chairman of the Philippine British Business Council since 1993 and has been instrumental in the significant growth in commerce between the two countries.
A multi-awarded development banker and entrepreneur, Amb. Tambunting is known to ADFIAP members as Chairman of Planters Development Bank, the Philippines’s leading bank for promoting and growing SMEs, which he founded in 1971. He was ADFIAP’s distinguished person of the year awardee in 2009.
British Ambassador to the Philippines, Asif Ahmad, will conduct the formal ceremony in the presence of Ambassador Tambunting’s family and friends in Manila in May.
