On the request of the Training Department of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), ADFIAP Secretary General, Mr. Octavio B. Peralta, and ADFIAP Adviser for Governance and Risk Management, Dr. Cesar Saldana, in two separate meetings on September 25, 2012 at the Bank main office in Makati City, Philippines, provided the DBP Chairman and members of the Credit Committee, inputs on the design and development of a new training program for DBP’s account officers. The visit also gave the opportunity for Messrs.
Peralta and Saldana to brief the Chairman and senior officers of the Bank on emerging issues and trends on development banking in the region.
The envisioned training program for account officers aims to fulfil the needs and aspirations of the Bank in achieving its new roadmap for development that covers four strategic areas, namely, infrastructure and logistics, environmental initiatives, social services and community development, and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The program is also meant to further enhance the Bank’s development mindset and impact as well as its operational sustainability anchored on good governance and world class management. The program is being planned to be rolled out across the Bank’s head office and branches starting in the last quarter of the year.
