ADFIAP, RENAC organize green energy finance workshop

ADFIAP and its partner, the Renewables Academy (RENAC), a Berlin-based training and capacity-building specialist for renewable energy and energy efficiency, organized a Green Energy Finance Workshop as part of the “Deep Dive Workshop Sessions” of the Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) 2017 on June 5, 2017 at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila.

The workshop focused on wind energy and provided a venue for discussions on the project structure and cash flow estimation of wind farm projects as well as the changing landscape of wind energy tariffs. Dr. Pramod Jain, President of Innovative Wind Energy, Inc. gave an introduction to wind energy, followed by the presentation of Mr. Volker Bromund of RENACP/PT Prime Consultancy on project structure and cash flow estimation of wind farm projects based on a case study. A panel discussion on the changing landscape of wind energy tariffs was held after the presentations chaired by Dr. Jain, with Mr. Suan Hwee Song, Senior Specialist, Structured Finance of Vestas Singapore; Mr. A.K. Samarasinghe, General Manager, Ceylon Electricity Board of Sri Lanka, and Director Mario Marasigan, Renewable Energy Management Bureau of the Department of Energy, Philippines as panelists.

The ACEF is ADB’s premiere knowledge-sharing event on clean energy, attracting a diverse group of stakeholders including government, national and multinational banks, carbon and clean energy investment funds, project developers and service providers, academics and civil society and development partners and other international organizations.
The workshop was offered within RENAC’s Green Banking Programme which aims at providing participants with specific expertise in renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies, as well as appropriate risk evaluation and mitigation schemes through its online trainings; blended learning which is a combination of online training and F2F seminar; delegation tours and B2B meetings in Germany; Green Finance Specialist Degree and Train the Trainer Seminars at RENAC’s Training Center in Berlin.

ADFIAP was represented by Mr. Victor C. Abainza who provided the local back-office for the organization and implementation of the workshop and Ms. Corazon D. Conde, Group Head, ADFIAP Consulting, who presented the introduction to the Green Banking Programme..
