ADFIAP’s Secretary General, Octavio B. Peralta, took the opportunity while in Hanoi for a JICA-supported development banking forum (please see related news), to visit the project office of the Japan Economic and Research Institute, Inc. (JERI) at the Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) headquarters in Hanoi, Vietnam.

JERI’s project with VDB, which is funded through a technical assistance from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), entails training and capacity-building in four key areas in development banking – policy development, credit risk management, funding and human resource development.  Mr. Kazuyuki Mori is currently the Tokyo-based JERI’s President and is ably supported in the VDB project by a team of JERI experts led by Mr. Hirohiko Sekiya.

JERI http://www.jeri.co.jp/en/, a special member of ADFIAP, is a research and consulting arm of the Development Bank of Japan Inc. which has earned reputation as the most reliable provider of advisory services to both public-and private-sector clients.  Among others, JERI contributes to the economic and human resource development of developing countries through technical assistance (knowledge).  Specifically, JERI transfers to developing and transitional countries the skills required for their economic and financial development.  JERI’s main research activities focus on developing countries and ODA loans as well as support for Japanese companies starting operations overseas.
