ADFIAP, through its training institute and consulting service unit, represented respectively by Ms. Sandra Honrado, Ms. Arlene Orencia and Mr. Victor Abainza, conducted an on-site training program on “Risk-Based Credit Appraisal and Management” for Fiji Development Bank at its headquarters in Suva on April 23-26, 2019.
The seminar-workshop, attended by 25 FDB bank officers and staff, is ADFIAP’s commitment to its member-banks to provide international best practices in its training programs through the promotion and development of green finance concepts and risk-based credit principles. The ADFIAP Consulting Group designed the program for FDB to support the Bank’s green project financing based on risk-based parameters, criteria and processes that guide investment and lending decisions towards climate and eco-friendly business models.
The participants who consisted of relationship managers, credit risk officers, account managers and officers actively joined the discussions on how to appraise, evaluate and manage the credit risks of “green” projects. The highlight of the seminar-workshop was the evaluation of a loan proposal using credit risk management principles and tools through a “live” case study where the participants prepared a credit loan proposal presented to the FDB’s Executive Committee.
The training received a very satisfactory review. For inquiries on the program and how ADFIAP can help through training and consulting services, please email at firstname.lastname@example.org
