ADFIAP receives visit from UN ESCAP expert

ADFIAP received the visit of and assisted Dr. Lesley Williams, PhD., during her 3-day project monitoring and evaluation trip to the Philippines for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) from February 12-14, 2020.

Dr. Williams is a Senior Evaluation Consultant of ESCAP for the “Innovative Climate Finance Mechanisms for Financial Institutions in the Asia-Pacific Region” which ADFIAP has implemented from November, 2018 to December, 2019 in collaboration with the Climate Change Commission (CCC), WWF Philippines, and the Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP).

The project visit of Dr. Williams was aimed to review and evaluate the project activities implemented by the ESCAP project and help improve project implementation in the future in relation to climate finance area of work.

During her work visit in the Philippines, she met with the ADFIAP secretariat and the ADFIAP Consulting project team on February12 and the Climate Change Commission (CCC) Feb the following day, February13. She also conducted telephone interviews with Mr. Ed Tongson, Chief of Party of WWF Philippines for Sustainable Finance, and with senior officers of the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) and the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), financial institutions which actively participated in the capacity-building activities of the project.

Dr. Williams have more than 18 years’ experience conducting research, evaluations work and impact and lessons learned assessments as well as developing project theories of change, logic models, results frameworks, and designing and facilitating M&E workshops. She has worked in the Asia-Pacific region on a variety of different projects under the UN, EU, DfID, ADB, DfAT, ILO, Oxfam, Word Bank, IFAD, and other programmes.
