The highly successful event was attended by around 60 ADFIAP delegates from 20 countries and hosted by the Macau Expo Group Limited (MEG) with support from the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, the Macao Convention and Exhibition Association and the European Organization for Sustainable Development (EOSD).
The Forum theme was aptly covered by opening and closing keynote speeches of Mr. Arshad Rab, CEO of EOSD, on the transformation of industry from 1.0 to 4.0 and how jobs in the agriculture, manufacturing, energy, health and educational sectors are evolving and the move toward a circular economy. Mr. Rab also identified four market gaps where DFIs can make an impact, to wit: capital mobilization, deployment of new financial products, non-financial intervention, and infrastructure development.
Four plenary sessions were also held with speakers from ADFIAP member-institutions sharing on the following topics: Session 1, “Rewind, Play and Fast Forward,” covered the historical background of DFIs and how they are going forward in the new environment; Session 2, “Modernizing Development Finance,” delved on a “must-do” list for DFIs in the 4.0 era; Session 3, “Fourth Generation DFIs for Sustainable Industrialization,” examined business opportunities in the sustainability and technological transformation of the manufacturing, agriculture, infrastructure and service sectors; and Session 4, “The Way Forward,” a plenary discussion among the delegates on starting the journey through the “DFI 4.0 Initiative.”

The CEO Forum was preceded by separate events – the 90th ADFIAP Board of Directors Meeting and Delegate-Meets-Delegate networking session. The delegates were also hosted to a tour of Taipa and Coloane islands of Macao and surrounding areas to explore the sceneries, sample local food, and enjoy the culture of the local people.
