BDC President visits ADFIAP Secretariat

Halde2Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) President and CEO, Mr. Jean-Rene Halde visited the ADFIAP Secretariat in Manila after his meetings with the Asian Development Bank and the Canadian Embassy. Prior to his trip to Manila, Mr. Halde also visited the Beijing-based China Development Bank, also an ADFIAP member.

As part of his visit to the ADFIAP Secretariat, he also met with Ambassador Jesus P. Tambunting, Chairman and CEO of Planters Development Bank (PDB). PDB is represented in the Board of Directors of ADFIAP and Ambassador Tambunting is the Treasurer of the Association.

The visit afforded ADFIAP and PDB to be updated on the current work and thrusts of BDC and its countercyclical role, especially during the global financial crisis when the Canadian government has mandated the BDC to provide assistance to the car industry, among others.
