ADFIAP speaks at the 3rd UN ESCAP regional workshop on climate finance

ADFIAP participated and spoke at the 3rd UN ESCAP Regional Workshop on “Scaling Up Climate Finance in the Asia-Pacific Region” held on December 10-12, 2019 at the InterContinental Hotel in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The event was organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), the International Chamber of Commerce-Bangladesh, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the Government of Bangladesh.

The event, which was part of the “Asia-Pacific Conference on Financing for Inclusive and Sustainable Development,” brought together key regional and national policymakers, private business and financial sectors, multilateral development banks (MDBs), international organizations, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to discuss pressing issues on financing for inclusive and sustainable development. The dialogue not only enhanced sharing knowledge and best practices among the participants to facilitate SDG funding but also sparked discussions on new policy and cooperation frameworks at the regional level to facilitate financial resource mobilization to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Mr. Victor C. Abainza, Senior Consultant of ADFIAP Consulting Group, represented ADFIAP and delivered one of the key welcome remarks of the side workshop event as partner of UN ESCAP in the regional project on “Increasing Climate Actions and Investments in the Region through the Financial Systems.” He also made a presentation on the results of the April 2019 survey conducted on the top commercial banks in the Philippines by ADFIAP under the UN ESCAP project.
