On invitation by and with funding support from the Sustainable Infrastructure Foundation (SIF), ADFIAP, represented by its Secretary General, Octavio B. Peralta, participated in SIF’s annual meeting held on April 19, 2017 at the Organization of American States (OAS) headquarters in Washington, D.C. About 200 international attendees were present for the occasion.
This event had its beginnings at the “Development Bank Roundtable on Project Preparation” in Manila, Philippines on December 2-4, 2013 held at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and then followed by the SIF Annual Meeting on November 4, 2014 at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London, and the SIF Global Launch on January 27, 2016 at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington, D.C.
The annual meeting is a culmination of over six years’ work that led to the development of a global-scale software called, “Source”, that supports the preparation of high-quality infrastructure projects in a transparent and efficient manner. SIF is now ready to begin a new phase focused on the global dissemination of the use of “Source” among governments, public institutions, and agencies to ensure that the software becomes a global standard for project preparation of sustainable and climate-resilient infrastructures as well as a source of well-prepared projects.
Taking advantage of the high-level of participation, three panel sessions were conducted on how to disseminate “Source” to governments worldwide, how to integrate the sustainable development goals and climate change-related questions into “Source”, and how to gather inputs into “Source” to better reflect the needs of infrastructure contractors and investors.
