ADFIAP, RENAC hold green energy finance workshop at ACEF 2016

DSC02867ADFIAP and its ‘Green Banking Project’ partner, the Berlin-based Renewables Academy (RENAC), organized a one-day workshop on “Green Energy Finance” for the Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) 2016 held at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) headquarters in Manila.

The pre-Forum workshop was attended by about 120 participants from banks, insurance firms, energy service providers, technology companies, non-profit organizations and the academe from different countries and covered the following topics: “Introduction to the Assessment and Financing of Photovoltaic (PV) Projects and “Bankability Assessment – Case Study on PV Financial Modeling presented by RENAC’s Alexander Boensch, Green Energy Finance Specialist; “Introduction to Green Finance and Credit Cycle Credit” by ADFIAP Secretary General, Octavio B. Peralta and “Appraisal and Approval: Risk-Based Green Lending Framework” by Ms. Arlene O. Orencia, Head of Projects and Programs of the ADFIAP Consulting Group.

DSC02874The event was organized within ADFIAP and RENAC´s ‘Green Banking Project’ supported by the German International Climate Initiative (ICI) and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB). The project aims at providing participants with specific expertise in renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies as well as appropriate risk evaluation and mitigation schemes through, among others, the development of private sector finance instruments for climate change mitigation and the readiness to leverage national credit lines with international climate change mitigation schemes.
