On invitation of the Philippine Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM), the national oversight body for the Global Fund (GF)-supported activities, ADFIAP Consulting (AC) attended the public/ private sector/civil society business forum held last June 2, 2011 at the Richmonde Hotel Ortigas Center in Metro Manila.
The objective of the forum was to introduce the Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria and to promote the GF’s thrust of a greater involvement of the private sector in national programs for the prevention, control and treatment of these three diseases. Specifically, GF encourages private sector participation in project implementation, provision of goods and services, resource mobilization, and advocacy for good governance.
Senior officials of the Department (Ministry) of Health were present to discuss various private sector initiatives and its participation in the health sector. Mr. Ravi Menon, Senior Private Sector Officer of GF, gave a presentation on the GF framework, its thrusts and various private sector participation models implemented globally.
AC’s Ms. Corazon Conde, Head of the ADFIAP Consulting Group and Ms Cecilia M. Ibarra, Head of AC Advocacy and Training attended forum representing ADFIAP.
