On invitation of the United Nation’s Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), ADFIAP participated in the “2nd Regional Workshop on Innovative Climate Finance Mechanisms for Financial Institutions in the Asia-Pacific Region” held at the Pullman King Power Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand on March 6 and 7, 2019.
The programme agenda covered three themes: Session 1 – Green Taxonomies, Sustainability Standards, Accreditation, Disclosure, and Impact Reporting; Session 2 – Financial and Economic Incentives, Policies and Regulatory Tools for Green Finance; and Session 3 – Green Innovative Financial Products.
The event, which was attended by about 50 participants from different countries, was opened by Ms. Tiziana Bonapace, Director of ESCAP’s Information and Communications Technology and Disaster Risk Reduction Division. Those who spoke as well at the opening session were H.E. Nim Dorji, Secretary of Bhutan’s Ministry of Finance, Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, President of ICC-Bangladesh and ADFIAP Secretary General, Octavio B. Peralta.
The ADFIAP delegation included Mr. Phub Dorji, CEO of Bhutan Development Bank Ltd. and current ADFIAP Chairman, Mr. Rolando Victoria, CEO of the ASKI Group of Companies, Inc., Mr. Rizaldo P. Vargas and Mr. Ronaldo R. Averion, senior officers of Land Bank of the Philippines, Ms. Cora D. Conde and Mr. Victor Abainza of the ADFIAP Consulting Group and Mr. Octavio B. Peralta, ADFIAP Secretary General.
