ADFIAP, represented by its Training and Membership Senior Officer, Ms. Eloiza Olvina, participated as an invited hosted buyer in this year’s 27th and 22nd IT&CMA and CTW Asia-Pacific Expo held at the Bangkok Convention Centre at Central World from September 23-26, 2019. Considered to be the Asia-Pacific’s only doublebill event in MICE and corporate travel, the event drew over1,000 travel destination exhibitors, association buyers, media partners, suppliers and MICE visitors.
The three-day event highlighted knowledge sessions on Asian MICE cruise conferences, sustainability, association forums, future leaders talks, and other learning series on environment, community cooperation, and sustainable efforts. More engaging activities and focal points of the programs included passionate breakfast, hosted luncheons and dinners, pre- and post-show tours, cocktails sessions, exhibition walkabouts, one-on-one appointments with the exhibitors and corporations. Another added value feature of this year’s event was the 18th edition of the Sticky Awards where new award titles were introduced. The booth of the Philippine Tourism Promotions Board shared complimentary sustainable Philippine coffee blends from La Trinidad Benguet, sourced out from suppliers practicing “Fair Trade” as part of the Foundation for Sustainable Coffee Excellence (FSCE) programme. There were also lucky draw prizes for buyers and for social media posts.
Ms. Olvina joined other delegates on the learning series on Asian MICE Cruise, association forums, exhibition walkabouts, and brand showcase presentations. In addition, she also attended the pre-arranged one-on-one appointments with MICE exhibitors for future ADFIAP meeting venues.
