AC makes courtesy call to ADFIAP Chair

courtesycall_webADFIAP Consulting (AC) made a courtesy visit to ADFIAP Chairman Nihal Fonseka at the DFCC Bank main office in Colombo, Sri Lanka last March 23, 2011. AC briefed the Chairman on the conduct of two “SME Access to Finance” workshops in Colombo on March 25 and 26, 2011. The events are a joint project of ADFIAP and the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) and in cooperation with host organizations, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCISL) in Sri Lanka.

The objective of the workshop is to provide SMEs with an overview of what banks look into in evaluating loan applications as well as to introduce a new technology that would help them organize and systematize their business processes for financial and operational efficiency, and consequently, enhance their bankability.

The participants of the workshops are small and medium enterprise (SME) members of CCC and FCCISL as well as bankers interested to learn about the best banking practices on SME lending in the Philippines.

Chairman Fonseka was pleased with these developments and expressed his support and appreciation on AC’s initiatives towards sustainable development of SMEs in the Asia Pacific region. AC was represented by Ms. Corazon D. Conde, Head, ADFIAP Consulting, Ms. Arlene S. Orencia, Head, AC Programs and Projects, and Ms. Cecilia M. Ibarra, Head, AC Advocacy and Training.
