AC meets with SMART Cebu partners

ADFIAP Consulting (AC) met with officials of the European Chamber of Commerce (ECCP), the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) and the Land Bank of the Philippines (Landbank) on May 3, 2011 at the ADFIAP International Headquarters to discuss the implementation of the SMART Cebu project work plan for Year 2 (2011) which includes, among others, ADFIAP’s conduct of sustainable consumption and production (SCP) awareness briefings to member-banks and other financial institutions and Cebu local government units (LGUs) as well as marketing briefings on environmental credit facilities by DBP and Landbank within the 2nd to 3rd quarter of 2011.

Sharing a common goal of helping industries and LGUs reduce their environmental footprints and become globally-competitive, the partners have agreed to collaborate with one another to create a proactive platform for the promotion and effective implementation of SCP and green investments, with ECCP identifying the potential market through its various chambers and memberships; DBP and Landbank providing technical and financing support with its environmental credit facilities; and ADFIAP conducting advocacy, capacity enhancement, coaching and advisory activities.

Present during the meeting were Mr. Gerry Constantino, AVP-Operations and Ms. Jasmin Runez, Business Competitiveness Officer of ECCP; Ms. Noemi dela Paz, VP and Mr. Rodrigo Olbes, Jr, Team Head of Landbank; Ms. Annie Salayon, AVP of DBP; and Ms. Cora Conde and Ms. Cecile Ibarra of AC.
