AC participates in renewable energy business matching forum

AC-CTIADFIAP Consulting (AC) participated in the Climate Technology Initiative-Private Financing Advisory Network (CTI-PFAN) Forum on Renewable Energy Business Opportunities for Livestock Farms held on May 17, 2013 at the EDSA Shangri-la Hotel. The one-day business matching session was sponsored by the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), an ADFIAP member.

The CTI-PFAN is a global program supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) which is dedicated to “bridging the gap” between clean energy project developers and sources of financing.

The forum identified issues and offered solutions for livestock farms in order for them to comply with environmental regulations and strengthen their cost competitiveness to withstand the entry of cheaper imports with the impending implementation of the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) in 2015. The presentations focused on sharing of best practices and featured successful case studies on local installations and how these affect the bottom line of their business.

DBP, Landbank of the Philippines and the Bank of the Philippine Islands presented their respective green financing credit facilities that livestock farm owners can avail of to install the different systems presented earlier. At the end of the forum, livestock farm owners willing to invest in a biogas system for their operations were matched with potential sources of financing via one-on-one meetings with the bank representatives.
