ADFIAP participated in the launch of the NatureNest Accelerator, a groundbreaking initiative designed to accelerate the growth of Nature-based Enterprises (NbEs) that contribute to climate resilience and sustainable development in the Philippines.
Its development is supported by funding from the Government of Canada and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources (DENR).
The launch event was held on 5 May 2025 at Marco Polo Ortigas, and gathered key stakeholders from the development finance, environmental, and entrepreneurship communities. ADFIAP’s participation underscores its continued commitment to supporting inclusive and sustainable financing across Asia and the Pacific. The NatureNest Accelerator is a timely and strategic initiative that aligns with ADFIAP’s goal of empowering green and climate-resilient enterprises by unlocking financing and capacity for nature-based solutions.
NatureNest aims to identify and support 10 high-potential NbEs that operate in or around forest, agricultural, or marine areas, and that sustainably use natural resources while delivering environmental and economic benefits to local communities. Through tailored capacity-building, coaching, and capital access, the accelerator will help enterprises develop viable business models and connect with mission-aligned investors.
Eligible NbEs must demonstrate strong environmental impact, community engagement, and long-term business sustainability. Enterprises focused on biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture, eco-tourism, biomaterials, and community wellbeing are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to Indigenous People-led and Women-led enterprises.
NatureNest aims to catalyze private sector capital, build enterprise resilience, and deepen nature-positive outcomes in the Philippines — helping pave the way toward a greener, more inclusive economy.
ADFIAP was represented in the launch event by ADFIAP Consulting’s Group Head Corazon D. Conde and Senior Consultant Victor C. Abainza.
