ADFIAP conducts Pro-Active Credit Administration Transitioning to Sustainable Finance.

ADFIAP’s Institute of Development Finance (IDF) conducted a 4-day webinar training program on “Pro Credit Administration Transitioning to Sustainable Finance” on July 4-7, 2022 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Philippine time. This webinar is the 3rd of the 4 series of webinars under the ADFIAP’s Sustainable Finance Program in collaboration with the Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD).

Credit administration is the oversight of all activities related to a bank’s credit process to ensure its loan portfolio maintains its value. The program aims to provide the participants guidance on how to develop and maintain a pro-active credit administration function to ensure safeguards are in place to manage the bank’s loan portfolio towards compliance with environmental, social, and risk governance.

The resources speakers are composed of seasoned development bankers who are members of the ADFIAP Consulting (AC) headed by Ms. Corazon Conde. It includes Atty. Alberto Reyno, Ms. Arlene Orencia, Ms. Cristina Aquino, Ms. Carmen Cintura, Ms. Emy Chavez, and Mr. Vic Abainza. They have imparted academic knowledge as well as experiential learnings that the participants can readily apply to their respective banks. The program highlighted the need to embed climate-related considerations into each step of the credit administration and risk management process to transition to sustainable finance. Topics include Credit Risk Management Sound Principles; Trends and Practices in Effective Credit Administration; Loan Implementation; Risk-Based Credit Supervision and Monitoring of General, Infrastructure, and Large Projects; Operational Compliance; Remedial Management and Basic Loan Remedial Strategies; Digital Transformation in Credit Administration; and Key Takeaways.

The 4-day training program was rated highly by the 21 participants who attended from ADFIAP members in Fiji, Malaysia, the Federated States of Micronesia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vietnam.
