ADFIAP conducts webinar on Risk-Based Approach to Sustainable Finance

ADFIAP’s Institute of Development Finance (IDF), with the support from the Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD) or the French Development Agency, offers a series of four (4) online training programs on Financing Sustainability.  The objective of the program is to pursue a knowledge and opportunity exchange in mobilizing and supporting ADFIAP members and other financial institutions to redirect their financial flows towards the green transition. 

The first webinar entitled “Risk-Based Approach to Sustainable Finance”  held on May 23-26, 2022, tackled an innovative approach toward the holistic development of a new breed of bankers who will pursue the cause of sustainable economic growth through the promotion and active mainstreaming of a sustainable approach in their lending activities.

Topics include Sustainable Development, Regulatory Environment for Green Finance, Introduction to Green Finance, Development Project Costs and Sources of Financing, Environmental and Social Due Diligence, Risk-Based Loan Evaluation, Credit Risk Identification, and Mitigation, EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Activities and Sustainable Finance Action Plan and Framework.  Speakers come from the ADFIAP Consulting group headed by Ms. Cora Conde.  The AFD Speaker, Ms. Andrea Loth, Project Manager at the Finance in Common Secretariat discussed the Finance in Common Initiatives.

The webinar which was attended by 24 participants from ADFIAP members in Bangladesh, the Cook Islands, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vietnam, received a very satisfactory review from the participants.
