ADFIAP, in collaboration with the Toronto, Canada-based Convergence Finance (Convergence), has organized an executive briefing on blended finance on January 25, 2019 at its International Headquarters in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

The briefing, which was attended by thirty (30) participants from the ADFIAP Secretariat and its business units as well as member-banks, was led by Ms. Safia Gulamani, Manager of Member Engagement at Convergence https://www.convergence.finance/, a global blended finance network of over 300 member-institutions and 772 finance professionals from private investors looking to diversify their portfolios, businesses seeking capital, as well as public agencies and philanthropic foundations looking to make their funds go further.

Ms. Gulamani discussed what blended finance is and is not, the strategic use of blended finance to crowd in private investors and mobilize capital flows to emerging markets, case studies on the blended finance approach, and what Convergence can provide in terms of services to its members.
