Hanoi, Vietnam – January 28, 2026 – The Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) and the Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) strengthened their partnership today during a high-level courtesy visit by the ADFIAP delegation.
Secretary General Mr. Enrique Florencio, joined by Ms. Sandra Honrado (Membership & International Relations) and Mr. John Alianza (Business Development & Partnerships), was warmly welcomed by VDB Chairman Mr. Le Van Hoan and senior leadership, including Mr. Nguyen Hoang Trung, Director, Foreign Loan Department; Mr. Do Thanh An, Director, Secretariat Department; Mr. Nguyen Viet Hai, Deputy Director, Secretariat Department; Ms. Pham Thi My Huong, Officer, Foreign Loan Department; and, Mr. Nguyen Minh Nghia, Officer, Foreign Loan Department.
A Shared Vision for Sustainability. Chairman Le Van Hoan underscored VDB’s unwavering commitment to ADFIAP’s mission. He highlighted VDB’s pivot toward high-impact sustainable development and the financing of strategic infrastructure projects crucial to Vietnam’s national growth and climate goals.
Innovation at the Forefront. Recognizing Vietnam’s rising influence in the region, Secretary General Florencio outlined ADFIAP’s roadmap for the coming year. Discussions focused on cutting-edge initiatives where VDB is poised to lead, including:
ESG Integration: embedding sustainability into core banking operations.
Digital Innovation: modernizing development finance platforms.
Blue Finance & Climate Resilience: leveraging Vietnam’s unique experience in coastal and climate adaptation.
Future Collaboration. The meeting concluded with a roadmap for deeper engagement, including targeted capacity-building and VDB’s participation in the prestigious DevTalk CEO Leadership Series. Both institutions reaffirmed their shared ambition: to amplify Vietnam’s leadership role in driving inclusive and sustainable growth across the Asia-Pacific.
