ADFIAP holds briefing on mobile money for financial inclusion

Mobile banking 1 (2)In line with its advocacy on financial inclusion, ADFIAP in cooperation with U.S.-based it’s like Cash, held on February 17, 2015 a 2-hour executive briefing on an innovative mobile money platform at the ADFIAP International Headquarters in Makati City, Philippines. Those who attended the session were representatives from members, Alalay sa Kaunlaran Inc. (ASKI), Esquire Financing, Inc., Planters Development Bank and People’s Credit & Finance Corporation (PCFC).

The first-of-its-kind mobile money platform “It’s Like Cash” is a revenue-generating opportunity for financial institutions, among others, specifically geared towards making money transactions more efficient and cheaper for client-companies, micro-enterprises, SMEs and even large corporations, whether in business-to-business or business-to-consumer transactions. “It’s Like Cash” also helps enhance the financial inclusion activities of these organizations especially in the rural areas as it leads to lower business cost and increased consumer spending, both drivers of economic growth.
