ADFIAP honors 9 outstanding development projects

ADFIAP honored nine (9) winners in nine categories of this year’s “Outstanding Development Project” awards during the Gala and Awards Night program on May 10, 2010 in Vancouver, Canada in conjunction with the 33rd ADFIAP Annual Meetings held there.

The winners for this year’s awards were: National Bank of Uzbekistan (NBU)for Human Capital Development for its “System of Quality Management Program”; the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) for Environmental Development for its “Rural Power Project”; SME Development Bank of Thailand for SME Development for its “Loan to Help Sustain Employment and Minimize Layoffs”; Development Bank of Japan, Inc. (DBJ) for Infrastructure Development for its “Construction of New Building for JR Sapporo Hospital”; Export-Import Bank of India for Trade Development for its “Lines of Credit”; Rural Development Bank of Cambodia (RDB) for Local Economic Development for its “Link Between Microfinance and SME in Kompong Cham Province”; Tonga Development Bank for Development Finance-led Poverty Alleviation its “Micro Lending Products and New Zealand Borrowers Diversification Fund”; and the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC)for Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility for its “BDC Governance Program” and “Aboriginal Banking”, respectively.

Special citation awards were also given to the National Development Bank of Palau for Environmental Development its “Energy Efficient Subsidy Program”; Oman Development Bank (ODB)for SME Development for its “Credit Scoring Model for Borrower Risk Based on Expected Loss”; Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) for Local Economic Development for its “MSME Financing & Development Project” (MSMEFDP); and DFCC Bank for Corporate Social Responsibility for its “Six-S Implementation in Schools Project 2009”.

The following institutions were also given special awards: Lanka Orix Leasing Company Plc for Best Annual Report; Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) for Sustainability Reporting; and IPDC of Bangladesh for Best Website.

Special recognitions were also given to Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) for being this year’s first membership fee payor and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) for being best in membership recruitment.
