ADFIAP members were honored for their outstanding projects during the 2019 ADFIAP Awards Night held in conjunction with the 42nd ADFIAP Annual Meeting on February 20-22, 2019 at the Sheraton Hotel Oman in Muscat. The ADFIAP Outstanding Development Project Awards recognizes member-banks which have undertaken and/or assisted projects that have created a development impact in their respective countries. The winners were:
Human Capital Development: Alalay sa Kaunlaran, Inc. (ASKI) for its projects “Men-at-work Program: Empowerinng Urban Men through Technical Skills Training and Development” and “Strengthening the Capabilities of Overseas Workers and their Families through Financial Literacy and Basic Entrepreneurship Trainings.” Merit Award: National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD) for its project “Rural Immersion Program for New Officers.”
Environmental Development: Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) and Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) for their projects “Green Banking Initiatives,” and “Advancing the Use of Renewable Sources through Freeport Zone: Enfinity Philippines Renewable Resources, respectively. Merit Award: DFCC Bank for its project “Funding the Installation of Rooftop Solar Systems of Large Rooftop Owners.”
SME Development: National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD) for its projects “Creating Wealth from Waste Plastic,” “Skill Loans for Youth in LWE and other Districts-Institutional Scale-Up,” and “Use of Hydropolic Technology for Paddy Ayurved Research Foundation, Haryana.” Merit Awards: Export-Import Bank of India and Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad for their projects “Exim Bazaar,” and imSME, Malaysia’s 1st SME Financing/Loan Referral Platform,” respectively.
Infrastructure Development: PT Sarana Multi Insfrastruktur (SMI) Persero for its project “Innovative Product in Financing Bakauheni Terbanggi Besar Toll Road Project.” Merit Award: JSC Development Bank for of the Republic of Belarus (DBRB) for its project “Infrastructure Development.”
Technology Development: National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD) for its project “Activities under Financial Inclusion Fund.” Merit Award: Oman Development Bank and Tekun Nasional for their projects “ODB Mobile,” and “TEKUNPay,” respectively.
Local Economic Development: Development Bank of Japan for its “DBJ Climate and Disaster Response Initiatives.” Merit Awards: Alliance Finance Company, PLC and Oman Development Bank for their projects “Ath Pavura Social Business Platform,” and “Support Sector Finance in Masirah Island,” respectively.
Financial Inclusion: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) for its projects “Eshakti—Digitizing SHGs,” and “The Self -help Group Linkage Programme.” Merit Award: Development Bank of the Philippines for its project “Driving to Break Boundaries: DBP PASADA Financing program.”
Corporate Governance: International Investment Bank (IIB) for its project “Transformation to a New Corporate Governance System.” Merit Award: PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) Persero for its project “Unit Risk and Compliance Manager (URCM).”
Corporate Social Responsibility: Landbank of the Philippines for its project “Landbank’s VOLUNTEERific Program.” Merit Awards: SME Development Bank Malaysia Berhad, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau Development Investment Fund (BVDIF) for their projects “Young Entrepreneur Innovation Programme – SME Bank Y – “Biz Challenge,” and “Happy Garden Kindergarten Project,” respectively.
Special Awards went to: SME Bank Malaysia Berhad, and PT Sarana Multi Insfrastruktur (SMI) Persero for Best Sustainability Report; SME Bank Malaysia Berhad for Best Website; and Development Bank of Mongolia for First Payor.
