Manila, Philippines – The Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) recently hosted the Chairman of the Board of the Marshall Islands Development Bank (MIDB) and its CEO at its head office in Manila.

The Chairman, Mr. Lanny Labua, accompanied by Managing Director, Mr. Dwight Heine, visited on March 4, 2025, to learn more about the association’s services and how MIDB could benefit as a member.

During the visit, ADFIAP officials provided an overview of the association’s programs and activities, including its training and capacity-building initiatives, research and publications, and networking opportunities.

The MIDB Chairman expressed interest in exploring potential areas of collaboration with ADFIAP, particularly in sustainable development finance and institutional strengthening.

ADFIAP Secretary General Enrique I. Florencio welcomed the Chairman and his delegation, noting that the visit marked an important milestone in the association’s efforts to expand its membership and partnerships in the Pacific region.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to share our expertise and experience with the Marshall Islands Development Bank, and we look forward to exploring ways to work together to promote sustainable development finance in the region,” Florencio said.

The visit was seen as a positive step toward strengthening ties between ADFIAP and MIDB and promoting cooperation and knowledge-sharing among development financing institutions in the Asia-Pacific region.
