ADFIAP-IDF conducts risk-based credit appraisal & management seminar

The Asia-Pacific Institute of Development Finance (IDF), the professional training and career development center of ADFIAP, conducted a 5-day “International Seminar on Risk-Based Credit Appraisal & Management” on May 28 to June 1, 2018 at the St. Giles Hotel in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines, with ten (10) participants from ADFIAP members in the Pacific and the Philippines.

The seminar was designed to equip loan officers with upgraded credit skills and practical appraisal method as well as provide them with practical quantitative and qualitative techniques of assessing credit risks of small, medium and large projects.

The 5-day event covered the overview of the risk management process; the seven risk hurdles; credit risk management system; credit risk management framework; best SME lending practices; management risk assessment; market risk assessment; the lending process; understanding financial statements; validation of financial statements; cash flow construction; cash flow analysis; financial ratios; technical risk assessment; assessing credit risk; credit administration; and credit review process remedial management.

The resource persons who shared their expertise on the subject were members of the ADFIAP Consulting (AC) Group led by Ms. Cora Conde; Atty. Alberto Reyno; Ms. Arlene Orencia; and Ms. Carmen Cintura.
