ADFIAP, IFG sign cooperation agreement, conduct awareness briefing on factoring

MOU Photo 1ADFIAP and the Brussels-based International Factors Group (IFG) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on September 5, 2013 at the ADFIAP international headquarters in Manila, Philippines, to harness common synergies for the benefit of their respective constituencies through the implementation of programs and activities of mutual interest. The MoC was signed by ADFIAP Secretary General, Mr. Octavio B. Peralta, and IFG Board Member and Chairman of the IFG Asian Chapter, Mr. Mikhail Treyvish.

ADFIAP and IFG will, among others, (a) co-organize, collaborate and assist each other in conferences and forums on finance and development issues such as, but not limited to, factoring and international finance, asset-based lending, risk management, cross border operations, small and medium enterprise (SME) development, environmental governance, financial inclusion as well as other relevant topics; (b) jointly develop and promote training, capacity-building and credentialing programs to enhance the professional and institutional capability of their constituencies and other institutions that share similar objectives; (c) facilitate interaction between their constituencies in order to encourage strategic alliances and business networking among themselves and their partner-organizations; and (d) explore other areas of cooperation such as information and study exchanges, publications, research and studies and other appropriate endeavors.

As a first offering on the same day, ADFIAP and IFG, with support from Planters Development Bank (PDB), organized an executive briefing on factoring and international finance at the PDB SME Center. The event was attended by 20 participants from ADFIAP members and partner-institutions.

IFG https://www.ifgroup.com/ was founded in 1963 as the first international association of factoring companies and is today recognized as the representative trade association for the Factoring and the Asset-Based Finance Industry, with an important focus on education and events, Industry Information and regular publications.
