ADFIAP invited to APEC SME Summit 2012

As part of ADFIAP’s participation in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Business Advisory Council or ABAC meetings held in Hong Kong, China from February 21-23, 2012, Mr. Octavio B. Peralta, ADFIAP Secretary General, was invited to attend the APEC SME Summit 2012 held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on February 21, 2012.

Under the theme “Entrepreneurship”, the one-day summit attended by over 500 local and international participants featured enterprise leaders from across the region, including, to name a few, Ms. Cher Wang, Chairman of HTC, Mr. Wang Shi, Chairman of China Vanke Company Ltd., and Mr. William Fung, Executive Deputy Chairman of Li & Fung Ltd.

The summit discussions focused on how to grow SMEs with successful examples of outstanding entrepreneurs from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The event was also a unique opportunity for business owners, senior business managers, entrepreneurs and opinion leaders to share best practices and experience, discuss current business issues, highlight winning market strategies, network and strike new partnerships The interactive forum and networking lunch spotlighted every aspect of running a business, from starting and financing a new company to expansion.

The APEC SME Summit https://www.hktdc.com/mis/apec/en/APEC-SME-Summit.html was organised jointly by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC). Past APEC SME summits have been held in Chengdu, China (2011), Yibin, China (2010), Hangzhou, China (2009 & 2008) and Melbourne (2007).
