On invitation by the Turkish Economic Association and with the support from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Development Bank, an ADFIAP member, Mr. Octavio B. Peralta, Secretary General, attended and chaired a session on public economics at the 2nd International Conference on Economics held on September 1-3, 2010 in Girne, North Cyprus.

The event with the theme, “The Global Economy after the Crisis: Challenges and Opportunities” drew over 400 delegates from around the world and showcased over 200 economic papers from both foreign and locally-based economists, researchers and academicians.

As session chair on the topic of public economics, Mr. Peralta was able to introduce to the audience the role and activities of ADFIAP. The session also covered presentations on a diverse set of papers ranging from welfare weight rating tool for EU funding, the dynamics of international health care spending, and public employment, wage gap and skills distribution of university graduates.
