ADFIAP and JBIC plan to hold a forum in May, 2011 to introduce to member-banks the J-MRV (JBIC -Measurement, Reporting and Verification), a simple, practical and internationally-acceptable process based on JBIC’s operational experience with reference to international good practices on quantification of emission reductions.

J-MRV is also very relevant in marketing and mobilizing environmental funds of financial institutions to their potential clients as it quantifies the environment contribution of GHG emission reduction leading to good environmental governance that would pave the way for business opportunities.

This was the main agenda of the visit to the ADFIAP Secretariat on April 7, 2011 of Mr. Takashi Hongo, Special Advisor and Head of Environment Finance Engineering Department of JBIC. He met with Ms. Cora Conde and Ms. Cecilia Ibarra of ADFIAP Consulting and Ms. Sandy Lim, membership and event management consultant of ADFIAP.
