ADFIAP, JICA organize roundtable on disaster resilience financing

JICAADFIAP, in cooperation with the Japan Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Japan Economic Research Institute (JERI), Yonden Shikoku Electric Power Co. and the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), organized a roundtable session on “Disaster Resilience Financing and Business Continuity Management (BCM) Rating” for ADFIAP members on September 10, 2015 at the DBP Headquarters in Makati City, Metro Manila attended by 50 senior officers from the DBP, Land Bank, PhilExim, Pag-IBIG Fund, RCBC Savings Bank, ASKI, Esquire Financing, Inc. and representatives of the cooperating organizations.

The event introduced the initial results of JICA’s study project on incentive mechanism for improving disaster resiliency of the electric power distribution network in the Philippines, using the experience of the Development Bank of Japan’s (DBJ) “Enterprise Resilience Rated Loan Program (or BCM Rating System).

ADFIAP Sec. Gen., Mr. Octavio B. Peralta, opened the meeting while Mr. Gil A. Buenaventura, DBP President & CEO, welcomed the participants. Mr. Tetsuya Yamada, Senior Representative of JICA in the Philippines, gave the closing remarks. The project presenters were Mr. Ken Kuwahara of Yonden Shikoku Electric Company and Mr. Mitsutaka Ozaki, Head of the International Division of JERI.
