ADFIAP organizes study mission for Bank Negara Malaysia

BNMAs part of its advocacy and development mandate, ADFIAP has provided institutional and logistical support for four officers of the Development Finance and Enterprise Department of Bank Negara (Central Bank) Malaysia on their study mission to Manila from October 4-8, 2010 to familiarize themselves on the roles and functions of Philippine development finance institutions (DFIs) and their regulatory and supervisory framework.

The 5-day program afforded the mission officers to have briefings from both Philippine private and public ADFIAP member-DFIs, the Department of Finance, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (Central Bank of the Philippines) and the Asian Development Bank. Specifically, the topics covered key success factors on DFI business models, balancing social development mandate with financial sustainability, corporate governance, key performance indicators, advisory services for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), risk management practices, internal control, and regulatory and supervisory policies and practices covering DFIs.
