ADFIAP and its partners – the Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI), the Association of National Development Finance Institutions in Member Countries of the Islamic Development Bank (ADFIMI), the City of Karlsruhe, Germany, the European Organization for Sustainable Development (EOSD), the Government of Uganda and the Uganda Development Bank Ltd. – held the 1st World Development Finance Forum on September 29-30, 2020.

The two-day, four-hour each day, high-level virtual event, hosted by the Uganda Development Bank, Ltd. (UDBL), drew over 180 attendees from 32 countries around the world, including ministers, ambassadors, central bankers and C-suite officers from development finance institutions, commercial banks, microfinance institutions and other financial institutions.

The event was also the occasion to present the Global Sustainable Finance Awards (affectionately called, The Karlsruhe Awards) to the winning financial institutions for their outstanding achievements in sustainable finance. It was also to timely launch the “Financing 4.0” Programme and the “International Sustainable Finance Organization (ISFO).
