ADFIAP speaks at Global Environment Forum 2009

On invitation of the Republic of Korea’s Incheon Metropolitan City, ADFIAP, represented by its Secretary General, Octavio B. Peralta, participated and spoke in one of the sessions of the Global Environment Forum 2009.

In Session 4 with the topic, “Ways to Promote Development and Dissemination of Renewable Energy and Low Carbon Technology”, Mr. Peralta presented ADFIAP’s award-winning environmental governance project www.egs-asia.com and its member-banks’ “green finance” initiatives.

The theme of the forum was “Global Environmental Outlook and Low-carbon Green Growth towards Sustainable Development in the 21st Century” and was timed four months ahead of the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference where countries will review the Kyoto Protocol and aim to have a new agreement to mitigate the impact of climate change.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon graced the opening ceremony and keynoted the event attended by over 1,000 delegates from government, business and academia sectors from all over the world.
